We are very pleased to share our most recent news with you: We are at last able to say that DanzActiva will have a permanent base on a first floor (accessible to persons with disabilties) that has tremendous local and international presence: The historic Ballajá Building next to El Morro in Old San Juan.
l Viejo San Juan.

From now on, the two large spaces on the northeast corner that face EL Morro will be home to our dance school and performance space where we will present Flamenco, Kathak, theatre, music and dance from Puerto Rico including open Bomba classes with dancers from our Special Program.

We will also present a variety of cultural activities that are in accord with our mission of presenting educational and artistic works that emphasize dance and music, integrating classical and popular forms that highlight Puerto Rican culture and all its diverse influences.

DanzActiva's directors, Paulette Beauchamp and Carlos Bedoya have with enthusiam and creativity commenced this new project that will also serve as common ground for collaborations that feature neighboring cultural, educational and communty organizations such as The School of Plastic Arts, The Museum of the Américas, The Puerto Rico Institute of Culture, The National Gallery, The San Juan History Museum , and many others..

At this moment we are finalizing restoration and construction so that visitors can enjoy the space as soon as possible. You can be part of this effort by way of volunteer work or donations.
